The Route: Your Journey, Your Way

The traditional Walker's Haute Route covers roughly 112 to 140 miles (180 to 225 km) of breathtaking terrain, crossing 11 spectacular mountain passes without requiring technical glacier climbing. Because this is a bespoke holiday, you choose how to experience it:

  • The Full Epic: The classic 10 to 14-day trek across the entire spine of the Pennine Alps.
  • The Highlights: A shortened 7 to 9-day itinerary focusing purely on the most dramatic cols and viewpoints.
  • The West or East Halves: Split the journey into two separate, bite-sized weekly adventures ending or starting in the lovely village of Arolla.
  • Custom Pace: Add extra rest days in beautiful valley towns or shorten daily distances to match your comfort level.

Tailored Comfort: Huts to Luxury Hotels

You do not have to rough it to experience the wild beauty of the Alps. We match your overnight stays to your preferred level of comfort:

  • Authentic Alpine Refuges: Sleep above the clouds in historic mountain huts like Cabane Mont Fort or Europahütte for a true mountaineering atmosphere.
  • Charming Village Inns: Relax in hand-picked, locally run auberges and 3-star boutique hotels nestled in traditional Swiss valleys.
  • 5-Star Luxury Finishes: Reward your hard work with premium 4-star or 5-star spa hotels once you arrive in the car-free mountain town of Zermatt.
