Lower Manaslu villages trekking holiday - Nepal

Lower Manaslu villages trekking holiday - Nepal

This trekking holiday in the Lower Manaslu region provides an authentic insight into the lives of rural Nepalese villagers. Your journey begins in the historic town of Gorkha, home to the former palace of the Shah Kings. You will continue alongside the Daraundi Khola river where you will pass through many agricultural villages with terracing, livestock and haybales. After 2 days of moderate trekking you will take a strenuous walk uphill into the mountainous villages of Barpak 1950m, Larpak 2200m and Singla 2300m. These unspoilt villages are inhabited by many of the original Gurkha military families still surviving off the land and wearing traditional costume and jewellery. On a clear day you will also enjoy the views of Baudha Himal 6672m, Ganesh Himal 7111m and Manaslu 8163m. On your descent down to Arughat 500m you will follow the Budhi Gandaki river passing by many original stone houses. This route is certainly on of the more remote treks in Nepal making it an unforgettable experience.
