Nepal Charity Trek Itinerary
Day 1 - Depart from UK - 21st Nov 10/19th Nov 11 
Depart UK from airport of your own booking
 
Day 2 - Arrive in Kathmandu - 22nd Nov 10/20th Nov 11
You will be met at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is at your own leisure to explore Kathmandu, the vibrant capital city of Nepal
 
Day 3 - Bus transfer from Kathmandu to Gorkha Trek to Sikhar 10km
Today we have an early start and take a private bus from Kathmandu to Gorkha 1143m .The bus journey will take approximately 5 hours depending on traffic. We will stop for lunch in Gorkha, which is home to the former palace of the Shah Kings. After lunch we begin our trek along the river to Sikhar. The first hour and half will be downhill the second hour and half is alongside the river. Overnight camping in Sikhar
 
Day 4 - Sikhar to Dhuteni 23km
Our trek continues along the riverside through many pretty agricultural villages and with views of livestock, hay bales, terracing and crops of millet. We walk for 3 hours before stoping for lunch at Arkhol 810m. After lunch we continue walking for another 3 and half hours to Dhuteni. In the evening the local women from the village will come and sing and dance for us. Overnight camping in Dhuteni
 
Day 5 - Dhuteni to Barpak 9km
A further 2 hour walk will take us across the river to Rimlung 890m, where we start our ascent up to the mountainous villages. After 2 hours of uphill climbing we will stop for lunch at Mandre 1500m for a well earnt break and to admire the sunning view of the valley below us. After lunch, a further 2 hour uphill walk will bring us to the village of Barpak 1950m. We will camp here overnight giving you the chance to explore the long streets of stone houses and to share a cup of tea with the locals.
 
Day 6 - Barpak to Larpak 9km
Today we walk steeply up to Kupsi Dada 2800m our highest point of the trek. After 3 and half hours you will be rewarded for all you effort by the views of Baudha Himal 6672m, Ganesh Himal 7111m and Manaslu Himal 8163m. We will then descend to a lovely viewpoint for lunch and then continue for 2 hours down to Larpak 2200m village for our overnight camp in the local school ground. We will also have time to wander round the village and see the traditional crafts and agriculture of the area, such as basket weaving from bamboo and brewing the local moonshine.
 
Day 7 - Larpak to Singla 5km
This morning we will leave Larpak and descend down to the river 1700m crossing on a rickety suspension bridge. After this we continue our journey up hill to Singla 2300m, the home of our library community project. This walk should take us about 4 hours giving us time to take photos and take in the beautiful environment. We will have our lunch and dinner in Singla and also enjoy a guided tour of the village. We also have the option to take in an early morning ascent of Dharchy 3227m from Larpak 2200m, 20km return, if you would like an extra challenge.
 
Day 8 - Community project in Singla
Today we will spend the whole day in Singla visiting the school and library that we are making our donation towards. We can also spend our time relaxing and chatting with the villagers, trying the local cuisine and moonshine. If you still have enough energy we can also organize a friendly game of volleyball with the local children. Overnight camping in Singla.
 
Day 9 - Singla to Khorlabesi 8km
We will say our goodbyes to Singla and continue down hill for 3 hours to Khorlak 1750m where we will stop for lunch. Enroute you can admire the Ganaesh Himal ranges in the distance. A further 2 and half hour downhill walk to Khorlabesi 900m brings us back to the riverside. An optional hours walk (3km) to Tatopani enables us to have a rather public wash in the natural hot springs water coming out of 3 spouts in the village. Overnight camping in Khorlabesi.
 
Day 10 - Khorlabesi to Soti Khola 18km
Our journey today follows the Budhi Gandaki river all day. After 1 hour we will stop for a short tea stop at Macchi Khola and then a further 3 hour walk takes us to Labubesi 880m for lunch. We continue for 2 hours through the narrow trails in the forest above the river and we may also encounter the monkeys swinging from tree to tree. We take a short rest at a tea shop in Liding with a great view of a waterfall and then walk another hour to Soti Khola 710m. Overnight camping in Soti Khola
 
Day 11 - Soti Khola to Arughat 15km
Today’s walk is again mostly along the river banks to Arughat 500m, the main bazaar and major market center within the Manaslu Region. This walk takes roughly 4 hours with a short tea break at Arket. We will have lunch in Arughat and then spend the afternoon relaxing or shopping in the market. Overnight camping in Arughat
 
Day 12 - Bus transfer from Arughat to Kathmandu
We will start early in the morning and drive to Kathmandu by private bus which takes about 5 hours. The rest of the day is spent at your leisure. Overnight hotel in Kathmandu

Day 13 - Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After breakfast, we spend the full day exploring Kathmandu, sightseeing Swayambunath, the famed “monkey temple” sitting at the top Kathmandu and also Patan, a medieval city 30 minutes
outside Kathmandu. A market walk can be arranged through the bustling streets of Kathmandu for souvenir shopping. In the evening, we go for a farewell dinner to celebrate the success of your trek!

Day 14 - Depart from Kathmandu - 4th Dec 10/2nd Dec 11
You will have free time until our departure. Transfer to international airport and farewell with “katas” traditional Sherpa Silk scarves. END OF A MEMORABLE TRIP!  
        
Day 15 - Arrive in UK - 5th Dec 10/3rd Dec 11
Arrive back at the UK airport of your own booking
