Covehithe, Southwold, Suffolk Coastal Pathway

"The village of Covehithe was previously known as North Hales, in which time it was much larger than it is today due to the sea encroaching more and more each year, the extent of this can be seen with ordinance survey maps. There are two minor roads leading to the village, one starting from the village of Wrentham, the other branch off from the B1127 at South Cove converging into one road at the beginning of the village, then continuing for a short distance to the coast where it comes to an ...

Gt Wall Trek, China

We had a lot of fun or this trek, in the evening the group still had the energy to act out plays as entertainment. The trek began with a short sharp ascent of the Juyong section of the wall. The Dayingpan section of the Great Wall was an original section from the Ming Dynasty but also provided us with a sense of remoteness. Flempton, West Stow - Suffolk

A short mornings walk from Flempton along the river Lark to West Stow country park. This route follows a section of the long distance pathway Lark Valley Path which spans 21km from Mildenhall to Bury St Edmunds. It includes riverside, woodland, heathland and parkland sections, including West Stow Country Park, Culford Hall and Lackford Wildfowl Reserve. West Stow Country Park has an interesting recreated ...

I started my walk along the riverside past the old mill up to Willy Lot's cottage, the cottage depicted in the 'Haywain' by John Constable. They opened up the cottage on my school trip ...

Lackford Lakes - Suffolk

"Lackford Lakes lie beside the River Lark and have been created from former gravel pits. The potential list of birds here seems never ending, with rarities like Black Necked Grebe occurring alongside more common species such as shelduck.

A superb site for wildfowl in both winter and summer, Lackford attracts tufted duck, teal, pochard, gadwall, shoveler and goosander. There is a large winter gull roost and one or two pairs of redshank nest here - unusual so far from the coast.
