Chedworth Woods & the Cotswold Hills
Chedworth Woods & the Cotswold Hills
I started my walk at the National Trust Roman Villa car park in Chedworth Woods. It was trying to rain for most of the 2 and a half hour walk, but it managed to hold off until I got back to my car. From the car park my walk followed the river in an easterly direction. then I made my way up to the charming Cotswold village of Yanworth.

From Yanworth I found the public bridleway taking me over the Cotswolds Hills. Only 200 metres above sea level but it was quite chilly up here!

After stopping for my hot flask of blackcurrant and to put on a few more layers, I continued across the Cotswold Hills until I hit a minor road called 'the White Way'.

This took me downhill to a hamlet called Cassey Compton. Not far from here I came across an old dismantled railway. My path took me through the Chedworth Woods just above this railway and I also caught a glimpse of a pack of deer here.
