Langtang Valley, Nepal

Our trek in the remote Nepalese region of Langtang began with a local bus journey to Sybrubesi, 1465m. The journey took 7 hours not including a 2 hour wait for the locals to  finish widening the road for the bus to get past. The bus journey followed the Trisuli Khola river and also provided us with stunning views of the Ganesh Himnal and Lantang mountain ranges.

Nepal Charity Trek

Our trekkers; Jan, Lyn and Paula from the UK, donated 250US$ each towards starting up a library in the village school of Singla in the Manaslu region of Nepal. The trekker's efforts were much appreciated by the locals who held a special opening ceremony for them.

Starting with a gentle climb up Braich y Foel we arrived at the top of Moel Eilio 726m at around ...

Old Man of Coniston & Troutbeck to Kentmere, the Lake District

This was Chris's first experience of walking in the mountains for which he had plenty of determination to reach the top of the Old Man of Coniston on Saturday. Initially we met up early in Bowness on Windermere with a thick covering of hill fog. However we were not detered and took the car ferry across the lake, drove to the start of the walk at Walna Scar and headed up the mountain. The fog cleared quickly and we were lucky to have good views of the surrounding mountains. As we had started earl ...
