The Abel Tasman track offered our group the best of both worlds, tranquil beaches and beautiful scenery and exciting estuary crossings. The whole track was geared up for trekkers with lodges and benches at the right points for relaxation. It was also possible to hire some kayaks to go and explore the coastline. |

This trek started off witha boat ride to Ship Cove and then we walked our way back from there! The track is a combination of privately owned and DOC reserves, meaning a wide variety of accommodation to stay in, including a little old lady's spare bedroom! We must admit it was very nice! The track took us through lush coastal forest and up onto ridges overlooking Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds. |

A 18.5km tramp between the volcanic landscape of Mount Tongariro and Mount Ngarahoe. One minute we were witnessing gases rise out of the depths of craters and the next minute we were sliding on bivvy bags downhill! |

This great day walk was not only sign posted with the history of the local gold mining and kauri logging days but also provided us with a physical challenge up to the lookout at the top of the Pinnacles. We pulled ourselves up the ladders and battled with the strong gusts of wind, to be rewarded with great views of the whole valley. |
